How to Get Victoria's Secret Bombshell Waves IRL

There’s nothing more intimidating than being on a flight with 40 of the most gorgeous women on the planet – the Victoria’s Secret Angels. Such was the case when I flew overseas with the stunning crew for the brand’s annual fashion show. Obviously we can’t genetically morph into these glamorous models (some of us were born shrimpy!), but what we can do is take note from their beauty books, specifically when it comes to hair .

While I was abroad, I met with GHD hair pro Lorna Moore, who was part of the official runway glam squad. She showed me how real girls can get model-inspired bombshell waves. “It’s sexy, soft, touchable hair,” she explained of the classic Victoria’s Secret look. “It seems like you can run your hands through it, and you’re not going to get stuck, ’cause there’s nothing sexy about a head of hair full of hair spray. It’s effortless hair. And that’s what encompasses sexy hair.”

Selena Gomez's Sexy Selfie Proves Why She's the Most-Followed Person on Instagram

If you spent a good five minutes starring at the latest Selena Gomez selfie to trend on Instagram, you weren’t alone. There’s a lot happening in the gorgeous photo – and we could not take our eyes off of the most-followed celebrity (and person!) on the social media platform.

Selena’s makeup artist Hung Vanngo shared the image above on June 4 with the caption: “Babe is in New York tonight.” In the image, we see the Hollywood It girl rocking a smoldering smoky eye and glossy nude lips created by Vanngo.

Her effortlessly chic beach waves were created by hairstylist Danielle Priano. The style – featuring loose waves and straight ends – reminds of this throwback Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen look from 2012. Though, the twins were wearing it for years before then:

Creating this look at home is pretty easy. If your hair is natural curly or wavy, let it air dry with a products like a cocktail of Ouai Curl Jelly ($26) and Sally Hershberger 24K Beach Glam Mineral Spray ($28) to give it a rope-y texture. Then use a flatiron to straighten just the bottom one to two inches of your hair, which relaxes the curls. If your hair is straight, then twist it in different directions alternating around your head with a 0.75-inch curling irons like the Beachwaver S.75 Curling Iron ($129). Leave the bottom one to two inches out of the curling iron to achieve the same effect. Finish with a texturing hairspray – our favorite is Shu Uemura Texture Wave ($39).

What makes this style even better is sleeping on it – or just having a fabulous Saturday night out. The added oils to your mane will make it look even messier and sexier.

12 Curly Hair Hacks That Will Completely Change Your Life

Having curly hair brings me such joy. The springy ringlets are indicative of my large personality, but I didn’t always know how to care for my coils. About eight years ago, I was clueless about all the unwritten rules (like no more shampoo, brushes, or towels.) And the commandments vary by hair type, too. A woman with waves can’t live by the same hacks that I rely on day to day for my Afro-texture hair.

That’s why we’ve called in the curly hair experts from Devachan Salon in NYC to create a beginner’s bible to curls. Stylist Eladia Lebron gave three curly editors a makeover, while divulging her best tips for every hair type . This comprehensive guide explains everything from applying conditioner to pineappling (which is an overnight curly girl trick). Get ready to achieve the best hair of your life – no hot tools required.

This Golden Milk DIY Mask Is a Drink of Hydration For Your Face

Golden milk is one of the hottest buzz terms in health right now. This magical concoction has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine and features a mix of turmeric , coconut milk, and sometimes coconut oil. We already know turmeric has amazing beauty benefits (for bringing down inflammation and offering antiaging elements). Coconut oil and milk have been seen “superfoods” for hair, skin, nails – you name it – thanks to their naturally hydrating abilities. So when you combine this all together, you get a DIY formula that will make you look and feel your best.

To get an exclusive skin mask DIY featuring golden milk, we asked Joanna Vargas , a celebrity esthetician and owner of her eponymous brand and spa. Joanna whipped one up for us and also explained why it’s so damn good for you: “This anti-inflammatory and hydrating face mask recipe is a treat to your skin, similar to the Ayurvedic drink golden milk being a treat to your body. It’s wonderful for anyone who has supersensitive skin, but even for normal skin types, it makes the skin look flawless.”

She also notes that not all turmerics are created equal. “Make sure you are using pure organic turmeric,” she said. “Some generic store-bought options contain dyes that can stain your skin after application. This is one ingredient where you must go organic.”

Here is what you need to create it:

DIY Golden Milk Mask
1/2 cup of coconut yogurt
1/4 tsp. organic ground turmeric
1 tsp. honey
1 tsp. coconut oil

Instructions: Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Apply to face and leave on for 10 minutes; rinse thoroughly with a warm washcloth, being sure to not leave any traces of the mask behind.

Why it works: “Combining coconut milk/oil with turmeric makes for an anti-inflammatory super combo,” Joanna explained. “Coconut oil is loaded with essential fatty acids to lock in moisture. Add that to its additional anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties and you have the perfect base for a face mask. Turmeric is an ancient skin care treatment and rightfully so: it also provides powerful anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-bacterial properties to the skin. Both of these ingredients work simultaneously to create a flawless complexion.”

The Stella McCartney-Approved 4-Step Plan to Bringing Postholiday Skin Back to Life

Stella McCartney presented her Autumn 2016 collection in LA just last week, and if we had to sum up the vibe of the night in one word, it would be youthful. Before the stars – Gwyneth! Johnny! Mary J! – arrived at Hollywood’s historic Amoeba Music record store, we went backstage with skin care brand Sunday Riley to see how they achieved the models’ effervescent, megabright skin.

Considering that many of us have spent the last few months hibernating in the dry, artificial heat of our homes and offices, all while indulging in a holiday diet that consists primarily of booze and sugar cookies, “fresh” and “plump” might not be the first words that come to mind when we see our faces in the mirror. But, it turns out, the glowing visages we saw at Stella are within reach. They weren’t the work of a crazy arsenal of products or hours spent at the sink. Instead, the dewy, healthy faces were achieved with five products over the course of about 10 minutes.

“It’s all about that really natural, glowing, refreshed skin,” Sunday Riley Account Executive Ryan Nelson told us. “When you’re cleansed, hydrated, and exfoliated properly, your foundation is just going to glide on so much easier, and when it doesn’t have anything blocking it from your skin, it won’t fall off as easily.” The secret weapon backstage was Sunday Riley’s yet-to-be-released Tidal moisturizer, a blue, faintly herbal-smelling cream that goes on rich but disappears just as quickly as 2015 did. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait to stock our medicine cabinet with our own jar until March 4, when it hits shelves.

In the meantime, though, Nelson gave us a four-step regimen that basically works like CPR on skin that’s flatlined after a tough Winter. While we can’t promise that a modeling agency will sign you after following it, you’ll at least look and feel revived.
