This Fixer Upper Star's Beauty Picks Will Inspire a Makeup Bag Renovation

Fixer Upper‘s Joanna Gaines is so much more than a kickass home remodeling expert and interior designer – she’s actually a pretty savvy beauty gal. In a post to her blog, Magnolia , she revealed her top essential products to her curious fans.

As it turns out, she does her own makeup for the hit HGTV show. “This is actually my choice,” she confessed. “I don’t really love to have a team of people swarming me to touch up my blush and ‘shine spots.'”

Considering Joanna (along with husband Chip) runs a bakery, bed and breakfast, magazine, and home store, and raises four children (whew!), we’re impressed that she takes on that challenge! Perhaps for her own sanity, she likes to keep things simple in the beauty category. She disclosed 10 “pretty basic” but classic products that you’re sure to love as much as she does.

All About Princess Diana's Signature Beauty Look, Straight From Her Makeup Artist

Since starting her makeup tutorial channel, Lisa Eldridge has been receiving requests for a tutorial inspired by Princess Diana. Admittedly, the professional makeup artist had never met the late icon and therefore felt “uneasy” about replicating her beauty look. In honor of the 20th anniversary of Diana’s untimely death , however, Lisa did the next best thing: she contacted Diana’s personal makeup artist.

In the YouTube video, Mary Greenwell spoke about her experience as Diana’s makeup artist. “I was so privileged to do her makeup for a few years before her untimely passing,” she said. “Now, she was an icon. Actually, even in her passing, is an icon. We all loved her so much.”

On Diana’s makeup preferences, Mary said she always kept it “very, very simple.” Mary admitted that makeup has changed quite a bit these past two decades, so she slightly updated Diana’s signature look for the purposes of the tutorial.

As you can imagine, working with Diana was a life-changing experience for the makeup artist. Mary said, “Her skin was immaculate – beautiful, gorgeous skin.” Adding, “She was so appealing . . . She was so sexy without meaning to be.”

At the start of her tutorial, Mary prepped her model’s skin, applied Laura Mercier’s Foundation Primer ($38), and then YSL’s Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation – which is unfortunately not widely available in the United States. As an alternative, try Lancôme’s Cushion Foundation ($47).

For the eye makeup, Mary applied a subtle highlighter underneath the brow bone and created a purple smoky eye using a drugstore eye-shadow palette only available in the UK. She then added brown eyeliner to the lash line and blended it out with a precise brush. Mary finished the eye makeup with several coats of mascara, as she would “never have used false eyelashes on Princess Diana.” On the eyebrows, Mary simply used Tom Ford’s Fiber Brow Gel .

Though contouring was not a makeup phenomenon during Diana’s time, Mary applied what she calls a “relaxed” version of the technique. Mary blended very light contour just under each cheekbone, then applied just a little highlighter onto each cheekbone. Since Diana loved suntanning, Mary did add a good amount of bronzer using the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit ($80) in Surreal Light. She finished the look with a light salmon pink lipstick.

Reflecting on the finished look, Mary said, “This was all inspired by the beautiful Lady Diana. I can’t thank her enough for allowing me to be in her life.” Watch the touching tutorial in its entirety, above.

Prepare to Be Amazed at Jennifer Lopez With "No Hair, No Makeup, No Nothing"

Getting ready for show night… #jlovegas #allihave #letsgetit

A post shared by Jennifer Lopez (@jlo) on Jun 2, 2017 at 7:19pm PDT

Between her enviable figure and timeless appearance, Jennifer Lopez has been the definition of goals for the last two decades. While we know her body has remained toned to perfection through the years , her latest post is proving that even behind the makeup, her glowing skin hasn’t aged either.

The 47-year-old singer-turned-actress recently took to Instagram to share a video of herself before the “All I Have” Las Vegas show, flaunting her glowing, hydrated, radiating skin and all we have to say is wow. “So this is what it’s like before the show,” she says in the video above. “I sit here, no hair, no makeup, no nothing. Trying to get mentally prepared to give you all I have.”

But that’s not all. The next day, J Lo shared a photo from her day at the pool with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez and their respective adorable children, where we see the fresh-faced superstar glowing sans makeup.

Here’s J Lo looking stunning at the pool.

While she’s always looking beautiful with makeup, we are amazed at how equally beautiful she looks without all the product. Last year, J Lo shared some of her anti-aging secrets with POPSUGAR , where she revealed that SPF is the key to “maintain a healthy glow.”

“I also think that regular workouts, lots of water, and fresh foods all play into the quality of skin’s appearance, plus the obvious removal of makeup at the end of the day,” she explained. “Without all of these, you’re not setting your face creams or facials up for success.”

Khloe Kardashian Looks Totally Different Without This 1 Contour Hack

Seeing celebrities without makeup is somewhat of a guilty pleasure for us, and we now know what one member of the famously contour-savvy Kardashian clan looks like when she’s not all dolled up.

After documenting an intense workout with her personal trainer, Khloé Kardashian sat down for a quick postshower Snapchat session with a fresh face and slicked-back wet hair. In her selfie videos, it looks like she wasn’t wearing any makeup (besides what appears to be a bit of eyebrow product and some understated false lashes). We can’t help but notice how her nose looks different than usual when she doesn’t have any makeup on.

Khloé has gone on record to say that, no , she has not had a nose job – and she even explained why her nose shape changes. “When you’re pregnant, your nose spreads because there’s fat pockets in there, I guess,” she said on Kocktails With Khloé. “So when I lost weight, my nose did get smaller, and also I now know about contouring. Like when I wash my face, my nose is wider.”

The reality star looks gorgeous with or without makeup on (#SkinGoals), but these snaps are a testament to her superior contouring skills.

Here’s another makeup-free Snapchat shot of Khloé.

Selena Gomez's Sexy Selfie Proves Why She's the Most-Followed Person on Instagram

If you spent a good five minutes starring at the latest Selena Gomez selfie to trend on Instagram, you weren’t alone. There’s a lot happening in the gorgeous photo – and we could not take our eyes off of the most-followed celebrity (and person!) on the social media platform.

Selena’s makeup artist Hung Vanngo shared the image above on June 4 with the caption: “Babe is in New York tonight.” In the image, we see the Hollywood It girl rocking a smoldering smoky eye and glossy nude lips created by Vanngo.

Her effortlessly chic beach waves were created by hairstylist Danielle Priano. The style – featuring loose waves and straight ends – reminds of this throwback Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen look from 2012. Though, the twins were wearing it for years before then:

Creating this look at home is pretty easy. If your hair is natural curly or wavy, let it air dry with a products like a cocktail of Ouai Curl Jelly ($26) and Sally Hershberger 24K Beach Glam Mineral Spray ($28) to give it a rope-y texture. Then use a flatiron to straighten just the bottom one to two inches of your hair, which relaxes the curls. If your hair is straight, then twist it in different directions alternating around your head with a 0.75-inch curling irons like the Beachwaver S.75 Curling Iron ($129). Leave the bottom one to two inches out of the curling iron to achieve the same effect. Finish with a texturing hairspray – our favorite is Shu Uemura Texture Wave ($39).

What makes this style even better is sleeping on it – or just having a fabulous Saturday night out. The added oils to your mane will make it look even messier and sexier.

Demi Lovato's 12 Beauty Tips to Feel More Confident Every Day

Meeting Demi Lovato felt like chatting with an edgy Disney princess. She was kind and warm, yet she has that badass, girl-power attitude. When it comes to her style, the popstar is gorgeous with luminous skin, beautiful brown doe eyes, and a megawatt smile. Her pretty-girl makeup was juxtaposed by a chin-length, tousled brunette bob – which we know is tame compared to some of her rainbow-bright dye jobs .

But what makes Demi a standout in the young Hollywood crowd is her determination to empower women. Through her lyrics , inspiring quotes , and openness about her own struggles , she acknowledges that no one is perfect – not even celebrities. Demi’s latest hit song, “Confident,” sings this point home with messages like: “I used to hold my freak back. Now I’m letting go. I make my own choice. Yeah I run this show.” Who are we to disagree?

Perhaps this inner and outer beauty is what attracted NYC New York Color to tap Demi as its global ambassador . (It also scored her a hot boyfriend !)

Since Demi seems to have it all figured out, we asked her how to live life more confidently (it’s not always easy!). And so we present her top 12 tips for being your best self, written in her very own words.

(P.S. we have intel that Demi is launching something in 2016 that will help you feel and look that much more confident!)
