Every Product Kylie Jenner Used in Her $450+ Vogue Makeup Tutorial

It’s odd thinking that at one point, Kylie Jenner was not a part of the beauty zeitgeist. The 20-year-old cosmetics mogul has let us follow her through transforming everything from her lips to her hair and has given us a peek into her life as a new mom. With Kylie Cosmetics positioned to be a billion-dollar brand by 2022 , it’s apparent that everything she touches in the beauty world turns to dollar bills.

Jenner went makeup-free in a 10-minute tutorial for Vogue , where she broke down her entire beauty routine. We got a look at one of the new Kylie Cosmetics eye-shadow palettes and glosses, which aren’t available online yet. Still, assuming that the new products retail similarly to her the others in her collection at $45 and $12 respectively, we’ve determined her entire look hits at around $450 of more.

The tutorial also comes with a few helpful tips. For starters, Jenner does her brows and eye shadow first (if you start with foundation, she argued, the pigment will fall from your eyes onto your cheeks), and she’s obsessed with blush – but she doesn’t just apply it to her cheeks, but to her forehead, nose, and chin, too. We also learned that the beauty mogul likes her freckles to show through her foundation, so she applies the product with a brush and then buffs it out with a BeautyBlender so it looks more natural.

Like many of us who throw caution to the wind, she puts mascara over her lash extensions, using black for the top lashes and brown for the bottom for a more subtle look. She takes the tip of her brow gel brush, which holds the most product, applies it, then brushes the gel out with the comb. Then, to finish it all off, she drenches her face in MAC setting spray so that her makeup looks its best in person.

What Kylie Jenner's Dramatically Smaller Lips Might Mean About Her Pregnancy

While we were gawking over the Kardashian-Jenner Calvin Klein ad , eagle-eyed Kylie fans zoomed in on the sister’s biggest feature. Or, in this case, Kylie’s famous lips were much smaller than expected. Given that the 20-year-old partly made a name for herself due to her lip injections, it was a little surprising to see her pout less plumped up. Twitter was quick to point out this could be the case because Kylie is rumored to be pregnant and therefore could be unable to get the procedure .

Of course, whether or not Kylie chooses to get injections is her own damn business. It’s not really up to us to make judgment calls on anyone’s decision to get cosmetic surgery, but for the sake of good old-fashioned beauty reporting, we decided to try to get to the bottom of this rumor.

That’s why we reached out to Dr. Joshua Zeichner, director of cosmetic and clinical research at NYC’s Mount Sinai Hospital , on whether or not Kylie’s mouth size might mean she’s about to be a mom. “Theoretically, lip injections and the product itself do not pose a risk during pregnancy,” he cleared up. “The big issue I would have with them in pregnant women surround treatment of potential side effects.” If a woman reacted to the injections adversely, and showed symptoms such as lip swelling, she might need an antibiotic to reduce that. Those medications are what’s harmful to a pregnancy, not the actual injections.

Can we trace Kylie’s alleged pregnancy – like, know how many months along she might be – through how big her lips are? Not really, said Dr. Zeichner. “Fillers gradually break down over time. It is a slow, imperceptible process rather than a drastic change,” he said.

Here’s where it gets interesting: if Kylie had her signature plumped lips, that could actually be a sign that she is pregnant, but not because of fillers. “During pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, women tend to retain fluid and develop swelling,” Dr. Zeichner added. “So the lips may actually swell on their own at the end of the pregnancy.” In other words: calm down, friends. Her lips don’t really hold any answers here.

But if Kylie is pregnant, and her mouth is smaller because she stopped injections, when can we expect to see them back in full force? Dr. Zeichner doesn’t treat the businesswoman, but in his opinion, it could take a while. “I prefer to wait until after a woman stops breastfeeding before treating with an injectable filler,” he said. “If we needed to treat any of the rare side effects it may mean she would have to stop breastfeeding otherwise.”

Pregnancy sleuthers, take note: Kylie’s lips are sealed!

No, Kylie's New Palette Doesn't Have Clues About Her Pregnancy

Kylie Cosmetics is adding yet another product to its ever-growing lineup, and this time it’s in the form of an eye shadow palette. The $420 million brand posted a photo of the nine-pan palette called “Blue Honey,” and almost immediately people started tweeting that the palette contains clues about Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy .

Some tweets mention that because the bundle is blue, it means that Kylie is having a boy. To that we say “boy, bye,” because most news outlets are speculating that she’s having a girl . Regardless of the sex of her baby, this palette was probably in the works for some time now and likely has nothing to do with her future child. Let’s leave the little Jenner baby out of this one.

Read ahead to see some other reactions and what hints people are convinced the palette contains. But here’s all we know for sure: Blue Honey will drop at KylieCosmetics.com at 3 p.m. on Jan. 23.

Kylie Jenner's Makeup-Free Selfies Reveals a Feature We Always Forget About

On her Snapchat, Kylie Jenner recently acknowledged a cute facial feature we rarely see due to the dramatic makeup she loves to wear: her freckles. Kylie paired the snap with a caption that read, “When everyone’s drawing on freckles but ur [sic] always covering yours.”

This isn’t the first time Kylie’s highlighted her beauty spots . In another makeup-free selfie from a few months ago, she shared a “freckle appreciation post” after a fan claimed she doesn’t embrace them enough.

When POPSUGAR Beauty spoke to Kendall Jenner , she revealed that she too has freckles – although she admitted they’re really slight and practically unnoticeable – so it seems to be a shared characteristic among the sisters. She went on to share a second fresh-faced selfie the next day.

For the record: we are so here for your freckle appreciation posts , Kylie. Just saying.

Kylie Jenner's Favorite Blemish Zapper Is a Beauty Editor Favorite

I’m sure you thought that the trick to Kylie Jenner having clear skin is just: “being 18 years old!” We’ve got a sense of humor about all things Kardashian, too. But it’s time everyone realizes that Kylie Jenner is a beauty afficionado. You might not like her “glam,” you might think she’s too young to enhance her looks, but time and time again, Kylie has proven to us that she knows the biz. Whether she’s snapping about a $9 drugstore makeup remover (albeit, hers is monogrammed and bedazzled), touting a shade from her lip kit , or breaking down her favorite faux lashes , we consistently favor Kylie’s favorite products. Which is why we’re not surprised that she is in-the-know about spot treatments.

Kylie recently snapped about the aforementioned makeup remover, Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate ($46) and the holy grail of spot treatments, otherwise known as Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion ($17). Beauty editors and skin care junkies love this product because it works: it reduces the size of the blemish and the redness overnight and can even bring blemishes to the surface for easier extractions.

Kylie filmed a mini Snapchat demo on how to use the product, emphasizing that you do not shake the product, but instead use a cotton swab to dip into the solution and spot treat. I personally fell in love with this brand in middle school after reading that Hilary Duff loved the rosewater spray. The Drying Lotion works wonders for breakouts, and at almost $20, it’s a considerable beauty investment – but worth every penny. (It lasts you months, though, so it definitely gives major bang for your bucks.) We even made a homemade version – that’s how much we adore it.

I spoke with Mario Badescu ‘s PR manager, Nicole Darmanin, to see if Kylie’s influence affected sales of the product. “After Kylie snapped, we immediately started receiving phone calls and there was an instant uptick in sales. The Kylie buzz was instantaneous!” said Darmanin. Ah, Kylie Jenner : a modern-day beauty savant. Perhaps she has a future as an editor? (You know, after running her Lip Kit empire.)

Why You Need to Stop Using Tinted Moisturizer ASAP

We’ve long celebrated tinted moisturizer as a complexion solution for the laziest among us: it’s so easy to use that you can slap it on without a mirror. But according to our friends at MIMI , this holy grail item is not sanctioned by the Jenner sisters’ dermatologist, Dr. Christie Kidd.

Kylie recently confessed that she hates wearing heavy makeup (despite the richly pigmented products in her beauty routine ), declaring it’s bad for her skin. But it seems that our beloved, lightweight formula is more hazardous than we thought.

Dr. Kidd told Kylie (and her app viewers) that the sheer, lightweight formula of tinted moisturizer is more hazardous than you’d think. “Tinted moisturizers are designed to absorb deep in the layers of your skin to hydrate your skin and protect it, but it’s bringing all that pigment with it,” the dermatologist explained. “That’s going to break you out.” That makes a lot of sense – and it’s terrifying. Looks like we need to find a new low-maintenance makeup option ASAP.
